VEHICLE compliance and restraints were two of the topics for a police checkpoint in St John Street yesterday morning.
Te Pou Oranga o Whakatohea child restraint technician Rachel Wilson said stopped vehicles that had child restraint seats in them were, upon inspection, overall good.
“It’s getting better,” she said. “It’s just a matter of education on how to install them properly.”
Sergeant Ray Wylie of the Eastern Bay road policing unit said that apart from the restraints, officers were also checking vehicle compliance.
