The Opotiki Art Society received a positive boost last week when the Opotiki branch of Quota International donated $1000 to the Opotiki Heritage Art Centre.
The art society bought the historic building, which was originally the Salvation Army barracks, in a state of disrepair in the 1970s.
Much work has gone in since to restore and beautify the building, which is also available for public use at a modest rental.
