THE Opotiki Central Kids kindergarten completed their new garden on Tuesday.
Head teacher Sandy Porter said a “big bald spot” in the middle of the Windsor Street property had been converted into a heart-shaped garden after the children came up with suggestions for a better use of the area.
“Out of the different suggestions the choice was the garden,” she said.
Having become an Enviroschool about one year ago, the kindergarten was putting more focus on environmental concerns.
The kindergarten also has two chooks that can enjoy the new garden.
