OPOTIKI’S premier Christmas attraction is set up and ready for business.
Last year Chris and Joanne Donkin’s raised $1500 for the SPCA by opening their decorated home to the public.
It takes Mrs Donkin three weeks to set up the Christmas decorations she had collected over the past 30 years.
The Christmas house welcomes many visitors including pre-schools, primary schools and other groups, such as the elderly.
A reindeer standing guard at the driveway of 52 Sedgewick Road will help you find the right house.
Day-time sessions start on Monday, December 4 and continue till Thursday, December 7. Visits are by appointment and gold coin donation.
Contact animal welfare inspector Kathleen Young on 3157877 or email her on opotikispca@gmail.com to make a booking for day-time visits to the Christmas house.
The Christmas house season ends with an open home evening on the Thursday, from 7pm to 9pm.
“All the lights will be turned on for the open home evening,” Mrs Donkin said.
Christmas decorations, a small army of Santas, Christmas trees and interactive toys are included in the display.
