Nigel Peterson
THE search continues for former Eastern Bay man Nigel Peterson.
The 33-year-old autistic man was last seen at around 3pm on Friday, November 17 on Otonga Road, heading towards Old Taupo Road, Rotorua.
Police and Land Search and Rescue volunteers from Rotorua and Tauranga began their search on Monday, concentrating on waterways, bridges and yard and shed searches. The search resumed at 7am on Tuesday.
Constable John Fredericksen said search teams and Mr Peterson’s friends and family carried out a section by section search in the Glenholme area. The search ended at 4.30pm and continued yesterday.
Police were also reviewing public security camera footage to establish the direction of travel Mr Peterson was headed when he was last seen on Old Taupo Road, Rotorua.
Police would like to thank those who have contacted them with possible sightings of Mr Peterson and have followed up all information received.
However, police still appeal for sightings of Mr Peterson since Friday, and ask that people call 111 immediately if they see him.
