WITH the opposition attempting to get back on defence quickly, this touch player is on a charge as he looks for one of his team mates to pass the ball to. OB4054-3
WITH only three of four weeks left to run in the Opotiki Ocean Seafoods touch rugby competition the action on Friday nights at Princess Street Reserve is beginning to heat up.
There are two competitions running; one for the elite players, and the other for those more inclined to enjoy a leisurely beverage or two after the games, and who are more interested in the social aspect of running around on a balmy evening in temperatures that are now starting to climb as summer gets closer.
And judging by the subs on the sidelines for some of the teams, touch rugby returning to Opotiki after an absence is proving a welcome sports activity to get involved with for friends and whanau.
The touch on Fridays has mixed teams of young and older players all working out ways to get over the advantage line and putting pressure on their opposition.

GOTCHA, this young player, below, is at full stride to stop an opposing player running away to score. OB4054-6
